Tasmanian Delegation visits Sri Lanka to Establish Trade Links

A 24 member biz delegation from the Australian State of Tasmania visited Sri Lanka from 8 – 10th September  led by its Premier Hon Will Hodgman to establish trade ties with Sri Lanka.

The Networking Business Forum was organized by the Sri Lanka – Australia – New Zealand Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce on the afternoon of 9th September at Kingsbury. 

The delegation consisting of 13 Tasmanian companies focused on finding business partners in the areas of education and skills, tourism, renewable energy development, premium food and beverage and fisheries management. 

Samantha Ranatunga, Chairman of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce welcomed the Premier and the delegation.  President of the Business Council, Manjula Lanerolle provided a brief overview of the Council and extended an invitation to all delegates to join the SLANZBC, the apex body as its Associate Members. 

The Deputy High Commissioner, Tim Higgins spoke with confidence the partnership potential of the two countries.
